Completing KYB verification: what to expect

What we check, how long it takes, and what happens when something goes wrong.

Every merchant goes through KYB (Know Your Business) verification before launching a satoQUEST or accepting cashback at the till. It protects shoppers, keeps the platform compliant with our payment processors, and unlocks every campaign feature.

What we check

  • Business identity — registered company name and identifier (SIRET in France, Companies House number in the UK, EIN in the United States, etc.).
  • VAT registration — when the country requires one, we validate it against the official registry.
  • Business address — must match what is on file at the official registry.
  • Representative — your name and a public email match the business record.

How long it takes

  • Deterministic flow (EU + UK): minutes. We verify the SIRET / VAT / Companies House number directly. If everything matches, you are approved automatically.
  • AI-assisted flow (US + Canada): a few hours. We use a vision pipeline to read official documents (Articles of Organization, EIN letter). Most cases clear within the same business day.
  • Manual review: up to two business days when something looks off. We email you if we need a clarification.

What happens after approval

You receive a 1,000 satoPOINT welcome bonus to seed your reserve, an email confirmation, and your campaign studio unlocks. You can then design your first satoQUEST or wire up cashback.

What to do if KYB fails

We send an explicit reason in the email. Common ones: SIRET typo, VAT number expired, business name does not match the registered name. Fix the issue in the partner settings and re-submit — there is no penalty for resubmitting.
