Getting started

Creating your account in five minutes

What to expect at sign-up, why we use a six-digit code, and what comes next.

Creating a satooB account takes about five minutes. Here is what to expect.

What you need before you start

  • An email address you actively read (we send a confirmation code there).
  • For merchant accounts: a few minutes to complete a short verification — see the KYB article.
  • For shopper accounts: nothing else.

Step by step

  1. Choose your account type — merchant or shopper. See account types if you are unsure.
  2. Pick a strong password — minimum 12 characters, ideally generated by your password manager.
  3. Confirm your email — we email you a six-digit code. Type it into the verification screen and you are in.
  4. Complete the onboarding — we ask for the basics: name (or business name), address, country, language preference.

Why a six-digit code instead of a magic link

Email magic links are convenient but vulnerable to email security scanners that follow links automatically and accidentally consume the single-use token before you can. The six-digit code is immune to that — same pattern as Stripe, Notion, Linear, GitHub. It is the modern default for SaaS sign-up confirmations.

What happens next

  • Merchants: a 6-step onboarding (business details, address, billing, KYB) plus a verification check that usually takes minutes — sometimes hours when manual review is required.
  • Shoppers: a short 3-step onboarding (pseudonym, optional details, address) and you can start earning satoPOINTS the next time you visit a participating merchant.
